Rok: 2001 AnotacePostmodern art theory is an anomaly in the history of art theory. It can be thought of as anti-aesthetic, and is, in part, based on questionable and unreflective premises, such as the ontological conclusions of a Kantian metaphysic. The author makes the argument that a new and less subjective art theory needs to incorporate the aesthetic tradition, as well as consider the visual arts as involved and concerned with the transendent and universal.
