Anotace
This book presents a typological survey of numerals in selected language groups of the world. In view of the chosen languages and the represented types, it is complementary to the volume on Indo-European Numerals published by Jadranka Gvozdanovic with Mouton de Gruyter in 1992. The invited chapters of the new volume focus on new areas of numeral-research, from cognitive, mathematical, historical and typological points of view, opening new vistas on numeral change as well. Whereas the volume on Indo-European Numerals is basically descriptive, Numeral Types and Changes Worldwide is descriptive and explanatory.
