This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-proceedings of the 9th Annual International Workshop on Selected Areas in Cryptology, SAC 2002, held in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, in August 2002. The 25 revised full papers presented were carefully selected from 90 submissions during two rounds of reviewing and improvement.
