The 28th International Congress of the History of Arts of the Comite International d'Histoire de l'Art (CIHA) was held in Berlin. With the general theme of "artistic exchange", art historians from all over the world met for lectures and exchange of news and views. The Congress afforded insight into topical issues in the field, as well as the art in Central and Eastern Europe, questions of the avant-garde in the East and West, preservation of historical monuments, the future of museums and the development of new media and original scientific methods.
