Anotace
This report presents a factual account of the functioning of the Treaty on European Union (TEU) insofar as it breaks new ground compared with the treaties which preceded it, and takes stock of the innovations made by the treaty in certain areas. It also covers decisions by the Institutions in the area of public information and transparency that have no direct link with the provisions of the TEU but originated with the public debate that arose when the TEU was ratified. The TEU came into force on 1 November 1993.
