Why is it that the Land of Israel has such a great diversity of snails? How do terrestrial gastropods of Israel cope with problems of desiccation, of high temperatures, of predators and of finding mates? How do these aspects determine their distribution? Answers to these and other questions are the topics of this book. The book is divided into two parts. The first concerns the natural history of Israel's terrestrial gastropods.
