Anotace

Synopsis To date, a great deal of Spanish video art still remains unpublished; whether because the pieces did not get their chance in their day, or due to the fact that their authors were unknown at the time, or given the precarious conditions in which the works were produced but not published in spite of embodying great ideas. However, a quality product has the ability to stand the test of time and the circumstances in which it was created. The work presented here is the result of the research on the history of Spanish video art undertaken by Nekane Aramburu and Carlos Trigueros with the intention of ordering many pieces still unknown to the public in general and making them known. The intention of this exhibition is to make new artistic languages visible on the contemporary scene, video art being one of the most forceful and innovative. The works in question appear within a context of the instantaneous, of moving moments, capturing the image with the narrative discourse provoked by video, but at the same time with the meditation of the story being told. -- Nekane Aramburu y Carlos Trigueros proponen con esta publicación - surgida a raíz de una exposición - paliar el relato fragmentado existente respecto a la historia del vídeo en España. Un medio relativamente joven e influyente del que no conocemos tanto como debiéramos por lo que el objetivo de esta compilación fue precisamente visibilizar esos otros trabajos que por unos motivos u otros se quedan en la estantería. Los trabajos reunidos en la muestra, compilados por décadas y con un texto introductorio por cada época, eran su mayoría inéditos y ahora, gracias a la labor de investigación de los editores, están a disposición de un público más amplio tanto, como la variedad de trabajos recogidos y de artistas tan diversos como Valcárcel Medina, Antoni Miralda, Mireia Sentís, Javier Núñez Gasco, Enrique Marty, Estíbaliz Sádaba y muchos más.
