Anotace
The book was published in the 150-th year of the Doppler principle. It includes papers by a group of researchers from Prague concernced to various aspects of the Doppler's principle and Doppler's biography. A paper is concerned to Doppler's biography the second to Christian Doppler and Prague Politechnic, another to Doppler and Royal Bohemian Society of Sciences, the next to Doppler and Banska Stiavnica and the last paper is concerned to the way of the Doppler's way to astrophysics. The book includes also a chronology of Doppler's life, a bibliography of Doppler's works, highlights of the History of Physics and Astronomy in Prague, an overview of a number of Czech institutions, such as the Czech Technical University, the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences, the Uniion of Czechoslovak Mathematicians and Physicists, the Czech Astronomical Society, the Czechoslovak Spectroscopuic Society, the Czechoslovac Society for the History of Sciences and Technology. The book have pictures and photographs.
