Elisabeth was a scion of an old Czech house of the Dubskys of Trzebomyslic, settled in Moravia sincethe sixteenth century. Elisabeth’s ancestors included notable diplomats, soldiers, and politicians. Her great-aunt was the famous German-writing author Marie Ebner-Eschenbach, often compared to our Božena Němcová. The Dubskys and their daughter Elisabeth were German-speaking Moravian patriots.
