Anotace
A collection of short stories and the title novella, which was simply excellent. The Ballad tells of rugged Miss Amelia, her love for the hunch-backed Cousin Lymon, and how her no-good husband Marvin Macy returns from the penitentiary and steals the Cousin’s love away. Sparse and powerful, the novella is a small epic. The other stories are also commendable, if unremarkable. Happy to read McCullers again, looking forward to more.
