Anotace
This collection of new writing is selected from "The Caribbean Writer". There is also a discussion of the following basic elements of short fiction - structure, plot, setting (scene), characterization, description, point of view, theme and symbolic language. Students are expected to understand the underlying structure of a short story - for example, climax (turning point) and denouement, and terms such as foreshadowing, preparation, motivation, conflict, foils, epiphany, dialogue, from and flashback, omniscient narrator, first-person narration and limited-omniscient narrator.
