This teacher's guide is designed to accompany a 15-unit coursebook for students preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate in English examination. It is suitable for both intensive and extensive courses. The book aims to teach students how to prepare for and take the examination, it doesn't just test them on what they already know, as many other courses do. Each of the 15 units is thematically linked but within each unit there is a variety of approach and subject matter ranging from "Us and Animals" to "Your Cultural Heritage". No two units are the same in structure. As the title suggests, students are encouraged to work things out for themselves. This is especially true in the presentation of grammar and exam writing tasks. The accompanying set of two cassettes contains a combination of scripted and semi-scripted recordings. A self-study guide is also availble.
