This book describes how to navigate the World Wide Web (WWW) using Mosaic, the hottest new graphical interface to the Internet.With no greater knowledge than is contained in this short book, Mosaic users gain access to information on thousands of Internet servers worldwide. Mosaic also provides a graphical interface to most Internet utilities, like FTP, Gopher, Archie, Veronica, and WAIS. This book describes how to use Mosaic to accomplish these common tasks. For more advanced users, it explains how to customize and extend Mosaic to allow, for example, the use of other viewers and browsers and provides an introduction to HTML, the hypertext authoring language for the Web. The book includes a CD containing Spyglass(TM) Mosaic(TM) V2.4 for the X Window System and a subscription to the Global Network Navigator (TM) (GNN (R)).
