Anotace
Through the advent of new technologies, surgical possibilities have expanded rapidly. The importance of a solid foundation of knowledge of surgical anatomy cannot be overemphasized. This book concentrates on showing the basics of surgical anatomy. Aproaches commonly used for neurosurgical operations are described with colour illustrations. For each approach, typical pitfalls (i.e., the potential of injury to neighbouring structures) that may be encountered are described. Step-by-step illustrations combine with related text, and depict the operative field as seen by the surgeon. Initial illustrations show the most suitable positioning of the patient and choice of incisions.
