Rok: 1989 AnotaceThe main thrust of the book is to describe surgical techniques in a step-by-step series of detailed illustrations accompanied by brief text. We trust that this Atlas may serve as a reference, a refresher, and a practical guide to treatment of cases of varying degrees of severity. In addition, an effort was made to deal with the prevention and management od complications. The initial chapters describe the basic techniques of vitrectomy and such ancillary techniques as pre-retinal and subretinal membrane surgery; internal drainage of subretinal fluid; exchanges of air, gas, silicone or flurosilicone oil; retinotomy and retinectomy; and bimanual vitreoretinal surgery. It is our wish that this Atlas will contribute to the improvement of the care of vitreoretinal disorders. If one complication is prevented, ti will have been well worth our efforts.
