Anotace
This text has been written to assist students of English in their work in the course of English Syntax in the B.A. programme of English philology. It assumes a solid knowledge of English grammar, especially of the morpho-syntactic properties of English parts of speech and their grammatical categories in English. The latter topics are listed and covered in the preceding (B.A.) parts of the course in English Grammar: English Morphology and Morphosyntax. Some data and phenomena discussed in that volume are repeated here and analysed from a more specific perspective.
