Anotace
Changes in global and regional economic conditions have induced state and regional economic development agencies in economically advanced nations to invest in strategies to leverage the emerging knowledge-based economy in their regions. These strategies included efforts to attract and retain industries and innovative firms, to imbue the labor force with the skills needed for higher productivity in the knowledge economy, and to enhance regional abilities to adjust in the face of rapidly changing economic conditions. Innovational region is the response to the challenges of new economic environment, being the foundation of knowledge based economy.
