Anotace
The Iraqi band as a new form of poetry departs from the structural rigours of classical Arabic poetry of a single rhythm and rhyme in one poem. The band is based on an important rule of the arrangement of feet, using two metres: the prevailing hazag (the trilling) and ramal (the running), and moving freely from one rhyme to another. Hemistichs in the band are not equal with regard to the length and the number of feet. Generally, the changes in the Iraqi band concerned the form, while the subjects remained traditional, reflecting the socio-cultural situation of the 17th century.
