Anotace
The objective of the present work is the analysis of these problems in the settlement complex of Ostrów Lednicki in the period of Middle Ages from mid-9th till the 15th century. The book is the first attempt to evaluate animal bone remains for the reconstruction of breeding and consumption patterns in the settlement complex called as Sedes regni principalis by the application of research methods used in archaeozoology. The investigated archaeozoological material includes the castle, the borough situated on Lednica Island on Lednica lake, the settlement in Dziekanowice (site 22), and a cone-like small castle discovered on the Ledniczka island on Lednica lake. The total number of the investigated animal bone remains included 43278 pieces. The chronology of the remains was dated on the basis of archaeological indices from the second half of the 10th c. to the 15th century.
