Anotace
This thirteenth edition of the "OECD Employment Outlook" comes out a time when the cyclical recovery, which had been limited to just a few countries, has now spread to most OECD economies. Employment has increased, although, relative to output growth, not as much as in past recoveries. Unemployment is edging down from its peak of about 34 million in 1994 to about 33 million today. Nonetheless, unemployment remains unacceptably high and looks set to remain so even after the recovery is complete. This book outlines prospects for the coming year, considers the importance of supplementary measures of labor market slack, and presents detailed analyses of other key topics including the role of public employment services, the extent and effects of of profit-sharing and provisions for parental leave across OECD countries. A statistical annex provides basic data on OECD labor markets.
