Anotace
This publication, the fifth in the Ethical Eye series, contains contributions from a multidisciplinary group of authors from different countries in Europe which examine a range of ethical issues arising from the use of biomedical research. Topics discussed include: the problems of obtaining consent, standards for the selection and recruitment of participants for research, the use of placebos, clinical trials of new medicines or experimental treatments for cancer sufferers, industry-sponsored clinical trials, the internationalisation of medical research, and gender aspects.
