People's Artist of USSR (1989).Holders of the Order For Merit to the Fatherland.Daughter cameraman and director Boris Volchek.After the Moscow Art Theatre School (1955, Karev course) became one of the founders (together with Oleg Yefremov) Sovremennik Theatre, since 1972 - the chief director of the theater, and since 1989 - its artistic director.Volchek is directed over thirty productions. Among them are Russian and world classics, works of contemporary domestic and foreign authors.Repeatedly invited to productions in theaters in Germany, Finland, Ireland, the USA, Hungary, Poland and other countries.
