Rok: 1862-1944 Heinrich Knirr (September 2, 1862 - May 26, 1944) was a German painter in the early 20th century.Knirr was born in Pantschowa / Pancsova, formerly Empire of Austria, now Pancevo, Serbia and died in Staudach, Bavaria.Knirr learned painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich.He was primarily known as a landscape and portrait painter. It was one of the most popular and reputed schools in Germany during the time. It attracted students like Paul Klee, Emil Orlik and Vadim Meller. Knirr was also a teacher from 1898 to 1910 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. He was also a member of the Vienna and Munich Secession. |
